Bradenton, FL – The Webber International Women's Flag Football competed at the RCX Women's College Flag Finals at IMG Academy. Competing against various NCAA opponents, the Warriors swept the competition, taking home the programs first Women's College Flag Finals championship.

Webber started out the competition playing the Aurora University Spartans, who they took down handily, 44-7. Later on Thursday, Webber took on the Hendrix University Warriors, where they again won in blowout fashion, 46-6.

On Friday, the Warriors took on the Spartans again in bracket play. After being held scoreless for three quarters and down 12-0, the Warriors answered in the fourth. Webber scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter while keeping the Spartans out of the endzone, making it a 14-12 victory to set up a game with the Alabama State Hornets in the championship game.

Webber took on Alabama State in the final on Saturday afternoon. The Warriors jumped out to an early lead and led the entire game, taking a 12-2 score into halftime. Webber scored twice more in the second half and held off a late comeback attempt to take down the Hornets 24-18.

This win marks the first major tournament win for Head Coach Jeff Melesky and the Webber Flag Football team.
