Babson Park, FL – The 6th ranked Webber International Flag Football team erased a late deficit and outlasted St. Thomas, 13-7, in extra periods on Saturday morning, using a fourth-quarter scoring drive and a strong defensive effort to secure the SUN Conference win on Senior Day. The Warriors were held off the board through the opening three quarters, but their defense kept them within striking distance before Webber broke through in the final two minutes and then delivered the game-winning score in overtime., as the Warriors honored Kahliya Gaitor, Rylee Bolser, Emma Balacco, Kaitlyn Sigmundi, and Cheyenne Durand.
St. Thomas scored the game's first points with 26 seconds left in the second quarter when Sherice Newton punched in a one-yard rushing touchdown and the Bobcats added the conversion for a 7-0 lead. Webber answered in the fourth quarter after taking over at its own 32-yard line and marching 48 yards in 10 plays. With 2:00 remaining in regulation, Luzariana Herrera found Rylee Bolser for a seven-yard touchdown pass, and the Warriors converted the tying attempt to even the score at 7-7.
The Warriors' defense came up with several momentum-changing plays throughout the contest. Cheyenne Durand intercepted a pass on St. Thomas' opening drive and returned it 20 yards to set Webber up deep in Bobcat territory. Kahliya Gaitor helped lead the pass rush, while Rylee Bolser and the rest of the defense consistently pressured Newton and the St. Thomas offense. Webber finished with five sacks, one interception, and 44 total tackles, limiting St. Thomas to just one score despite the Bobcats holding the ball for more than 42 minutes.
In the extra session, Webber capitalized on its opportunity immediately. On the game's deciding possession, Herrera connected on a 10-yard touchdown pass to end it and lift the Warriors to the six-point victory. Herrera finished 27-of-46 passing for 185 yards and two touchdowns, while Bolser hauled in 11 catches for 59 yards and a score. Kaitlyn Sigmundi added five receptions for 21 yards and a touchdown, Yasmin Lott caught seven passes for 32 yards, and Cheyenne Durand contributed three catches for 30 yards to go along with her interception.
Defensively, Savannah Cox posted a team-high 13 tackles, while Bolser added 12 tackles and two sacks in an all-around performance. Gaitor totaled six tackles and four sacks, helping Webber repeatedly stall St. Thomas drives in key moments. The Warriors' defense also got solid efforts from Kwanesha Bonelli and Durand as Webber closed out the 13-7 result.
