Warriors Fall to Royals

Babson Park, FL – The 7th ranked Webber International Flag Football team dropped a SUN Conference matchup to Warner, 46-6, on Tuesday afternoon. The Warriors were held scoreless through the opening half before finally breaking through in the third quarter on a defensive spark, but Warner's quick-strike passing attack proved too much to overcome.

Warner built control of the game early and carried a 26-0 lead into halftime, capitalizing on a series of turnovers and converting several short scoring chances. Webber showed flashes offensively, including a second-quarter drive that pushed deep into Warner territory behind completions from Luzariana Herrera to Yasmin Lott and Cheyenne Durand, but the Warriors were unable to finish the possession with points.

The Warriors' lone touchdown came in the third quarter when Kwanesha Bonelli stepped in front of a Warner pass and returned the interception 30 yards for a score, putting Webber on the board. Earlier in the period, Ijyana Edwards also came away with an interception to help give Webber a defensive lift, but Warner answered with another touchdown drive and later added one more score in the fourth to seal the final margin.

Herrera completed 25 of 37 passes for 131 yards to lead the Webber offense, while Yasmin Lott paced the receiving corps with six catches for 47 yards. Rylee Bolser added seven receptions for 39 yards, Cheyenne Durand finished with five catches for 28 yards, and Kaitlyn Sigmundi contributed five receptions for 21 yards.

Defensively, Bonelli and Bolser each posted 10 total tackles, with Bonelli adding the interception return touchdown. Edwards recorded two interceptions and five total tackles, while Savannah Cox added six tackles and Kahliya Gaitor notched two sacks for the Warriors. As a team, Webber finished with three interceptions and two sacks in the setback.
