Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Flag Football team hosted the St. Thomas Bobcats for their second matchup of the year Thursday afternoon. Although the Warriors had the Bobcats on the ropes, two late touchdowns would seal the Warriors defeat as they fell 25-18.

Webber started the game out on defense, and the Bobcats began to orchestrate a drive. A tackle from Rylee Bolser had St. Thomas with the ball at the five-yard line on third down. Two straight incompletions gave Webber the ball. The Warriors weren't able to do much with it as they ended up punting off the leg of Faith Cullen-Cooper. Both teams would trade punts before a fourth down sack from Jasmine Henry gave Webber the ball with good field position. After getting the ball to the 27, Quarterback Samantha Wilson connected with Zoe Melo for the touchdown. The Bobcats would find the endzone on the ensuing drive, taking a 7-6 lead into the half.

The Warriors got the ball to start the second half but would punt again. Webber forced St. Thomas into a punt and Cheyenne Durand returned it 44 yards to the Bobcats' six-yard line. Wilson connected with her Center Brea Kamm two plays later for the touchdown, taking a 12-7 lead. Two plays later Webber found themselves with the ball again after Henry intercepted St. Thomas' quarterback. Wilson found Durand up the middle for a touchdown and the Warriors held onto an 18-7 lead. After a 26-yard pass with an additional 10 from a penalty, St. Thomas was able to find the endzone again, making it 18-13. The Warriors would be unable to get any offense going as Wilson would throw an interception that resulted in a touchdown to give St. Thomas a 19-18 lead. On the next offensive play for the Warriors, Wilson would throw a pick six, sealing the game.

After the game, Head Coach Jeff Melesky said "This one stings, we had one of the best teams in the country in our grasp and we let it slip away. We're a good team and we'll take this game and get better."

The Warriors will be back in action on Wednesday, April 3rd when they travel to Marrietta, Georgia to take on the Life Running Eagles.
