Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Flag Football team hosted the Fort Lauderdale Eagles on Tuesday afternoon at the Warrior Grass Field. The Warriors offense and defense were firing on all cylinders as Webber beat the brakes off the Eagles 61-0.

Webber started the game off with the ball. Quarterback Samantha Wilson had her first completion of the game to Sammy Gonzalez. Completions to Zoe Melo and Cheyenne Durand set up a 16-yard touchdown pass to Rylee Bolser. On Fort Lauderdale's first offensive play, Durand intercepted a pass at the 35-yard line setting up another Webber offensive drive. A completion to Kaitlyn Sigmundi set up the Warriors at the 13-yard line thanks to a pitch to Jasmine Henry. On fourth down, Wilson completed a pass to Sigmundi for a touchdown, to take a 14-0 lead. The Eagles next drive ended the same way, as after a sack from Henry, Sigmundi would intercept the next pass. With the ball on the Eagles 29-yard line, Henry had a six-yard rush. On the next play, Wilson connected with Bolser for a touchdown.

At the start of the second quarter, Abbygale Jordan would intercept another pass by the Eagles. Wilson would connect with Gabby Franzose for a touchdown, and Webber took a 27-0 lead. The Eagles next drive would see them drive down the field to the two-yard line. After an incomplete pass, Sigmundi would step in front of an Eagles reciever and take an interception 78 yards to the endzone for another Warrior touchdown. On the ensuing drive, a rush by the Eagles would be all that was mustered as Durand intercepted another pass. Wilson would connect with Melo at the 10-yard line before pitching it to Henry for another touchdown and the Warriors took a 41-0 lead into the half.

The third quarter would be much of the same for both teams as Gonzalez would get a pick-six of her own on a 16-yard return. Fort Lauderdale would engineer another drive, but after three incomplete passes, the Eagles would turn the ball over on downs at the seven-yard line, ending the third quarter with Webber having a 47-0 lead.

With Sigmundi at quarterback, she completed a pass to Faith Cullen-Cooper, who then pitched it to Wilson, who in turn pitched it to Henry who ran it 38 yards for a touchdown. The Warrior defense would hold strong again, forcing the Eagles into another turnover on downs. Webber would take another shot at the endzone, as Wilson found Melo for their final score of the game. The Warriors forced the Eagles into another turnover on downs, and Webber would take down Fort Lauderdale 61-0.

The Warriors will be back in action on Thursday, March 28th when they host the St. Thomas Bobcats on the Warrior Grass Field.
