Box Score ATLANTA, Ga. (May 8, 2021) – The third-seeded Webber International University women's flag football team fell 27-12 against second-seeded Ottawa University in the semifinals of the first ever NAIA Women's Flag Football Finals on Saturday.
The Warriors trailed 14-0 at halftime, but then were only outscored by one during the second half (13-12). After the game, Ottawa would go on to win the national championship by a final score of 7-6 over top-seeded Keiser University.
Webber's first touchdown against Ottawa was a receiving touchdown off a pitch play in the third quarter by
RayGene Garner, who then in the fourth quarter completed a pass to
Nadia Arroyo for the Warriors' final points of the game.
Garner finished with three catches for a team-high 43 receiving yards while
Breaza Robinson and
Kayla Burrows both added four catches.
Sierra Harris was 11-of-23 passing for 129 yards and added 51 rushing yards, and Garner was 5-for-9 passing for 86 yards.
Defensively, Robinson led the Warriors with 11 flag pulls, one sack and three pass breakups while Garner added 10 flag pulls.
Webber finished the inaugural season of collegiate women's flag football with an overall record of 10-4 as its only losses came against Keiser (twice), St. Thomas and now Ottawa.
