Box Score BABSON PARK, Fla. (March 27, 2021) – The Webber International University women's flag football team returned to action for the first time in four weeks and played on its home field for the first time in five weeks, but in the end, the Warriors lost by an extremely close score of 15-14 against undefeated Keiser University on Saturday on the Warrior Grass Field.

Webber trailed 2-0 after a safety by Keiser in the first quarter, but then led 6-2 at halftime thanks to a three-yard touchdown pass from
Sierra Harris to
RayGene Garner. It was the first time this season Keiser had been held to without a touchdown in the first half.
Then after falling behind 8-6 entering the fourth quarter, Webber took back the lead at 14-8 as Harris completed a 13-yard touchdown pass to
Susann Kaufmann and then completed the two-point extra point conversion attempt to Garner.
Unfortunately, Keiser answered with an 18-yard touchdown pass followed by a successful one-point extra point try with 3:50 left in the game, which would go on to be the winning point in the game as Webber threw an interception in the end zone trying to take back the lead with 1:50 on the clock.

Webber's Head Women's Flag Football Coach
Jeffrey Melesky said, "The last time we played Keiser down in Boca, it wasn't good. We missed 22 flag pulls. We were determined to put that behind us and prove that that's not what Webber flag football is all about. I am very proud of how our girls battled the entire game against arguably one of the top teams in the country. Today, we proved that we belong in that conversation as well."
Harris finished with 214 passing yards and two touchdowns while completing 20 of her 25 attempts.
Four Warriors had huge games catching the ball as
Breaza Robinson had six catches for 84 yards,
Emma Parrish had six catches for 17 yards,
Kayla Burrows had five catches for 121 yards, and Kaufmann had five catches for 31 yards.

Defensively, Robinson finished with a game-high nine flag pulls while Garner and Burrows both added seven flag pulls and Kaufmann and Parrish had six. Additionally, both Burrows and Kaufmann added an interception.
"
Kayla Burrows was amazing today with 121 yards receiving and key plays on defense, including an interception," added Melesky. "I feel we have found a good position for her on defense when we moved her to safety.
RayGene Garner's touchdown in the second quarter was pretty amazing to watch as well; she was determined and no one was going to stop her from getting in the end zone."
With the loss, Webber fell to 5-2 overall and 3-2 in The Sun Conference while Keiser remained the final undefeated team in conference at 5-0 overall and 4-0 in the league.
Next up for the Warriors will be a road game at St. Thomas University at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 3. The Warriors are currently 2-0 against the Bobcats so far this season.
