BABSON PARK, Fla. – Webber International University women's volleyball senior libero Alejandra Aponte has been named the SUN Conference Defender of the Week for the second consecutive week, the conference announced Monday.

The honor marks Aponte's third career weekly award and her second of the 2026 season.

The 5-foot-3 senior libero once again led the Warriors defensively during the Faulkner University Tournament over the weekend. Aponte recorded a team-high 90 digs across four matches, averaging 5.63 digs per set.

Aponte's top performance came in Webber's match against Faulkner University on Aug. 28, where she collected a match-high 30 digs over four sets. She followed with 15 digs against the University of Mobile later that day.

The Morovis, Puerto Rico native continued her strong weekend on Aug. 29, recording 28 digs in four sets against William Carey University before adding 17 digs in a three-set match against Talladega College.

Aponte has continued to be a key presence for the Warriors' defense early in the 2026 campaign, earning back-to-back Defender of the Week honors after also receiving the recognition during the opening week of the season.
