Daytona Beach, FL – The Webber International Men's and Women's Cross Country teams compete at the Embry-Riddle Cross Country Classic Saturday morning. Webber had six runners, five men and one woman, competing in the race.
Cameron Gonzalez finished first for the Warriors. He finished in 63rd place with a time of 29:59.4. Andrew Rodriguez finished soon after his teammate in 69th with a time of 30:20.6. Derick Gomez finished 69th with a time of 31:39.0. Aaron Wilson was in 119th place with a time of 34:02.2. Last but not least, Chris Donaldson had a time of 35:51.9, good for 129th place. The Embry Riddle Course was an 8k for the men, who finished 12th out of 12.
Azora Williams was the lone female to run for the Warriors. She finished in 103rd place with a time of 29:54.5 in the 6k race.
After the race, Head Coach Mike Mangan spoke to the difficulty of the race and how it will translate later.
"Embry is a tough challenge with its hills. We did a good job competing against some high power programs. This experience will help us at the conference meet in November."
The Warriors will be back in action on Saturday, October 5th when they travel to Ave Maria, Florida for the Ave Maria Invite.
