Box Score Lakeland, FL. - The Webber International women's soccer team traveled west on Saturday evening to take on their fellow Sun Conference rival the Southeastern Fire. The Warriors were rolling after an energized effort during Wednesday's victory on senior day with an early goal in the first half, but the Fire lived up to their national ranking and came back from the one goal deficit and defeated the Warriors 2-1.

The Warriors took the momentum from their win on Wednesday afternoon on senior night and came out playing with fire against the #12 ranked team in the nation. The Warriors pushed the envelope on offense, recording the first four shots of the game.
Faith Cullen-Cooper, one of the seniors celebrated on Wednesday afternoon, would get the Warriors on the board first, scoring her third goal of the year on a brilliant header off the cross and assist from
Solimar Hernandez. The Warriors would continue to battle with their newfound lead and the majority of the first half was played in the midfield with both squads only taking a combined nine first half shots.
Atlanta Kishbaugh, the Warriors starting goalkeeper on Saturday evening, would not have to make her first save until the 37
th minute when Rebecca Leface got a shot on target for the Fire, but Kishbaugh was able to make the save. The Fire would not relent and would manage to get one in the back of the net just two minutes later in the 39
th minute with Danniane Arboleda scoring her first goal of the season evening the score at 1-1 as both teams headed into halftime.

The Fire came out of halftime burning for more goals and took two shots at the Warriors keeper in the first three minutes of the second half, but one went wide and Kishabugh recorded her second save of the game on the other. The Warriors, feeling the pressure from the Fire attack, misplayed a ball in their own box in the 51
st minute and Ariadna Lozano put it into the back of the net to give the Fire the 2-1 advantage. The Warriors would not see much possession of the ball in the second half and did not get their first shot off until the 70
th minute from
Deborah Guillen, but the Fire keeper, Micaela Owen, was there to make the save. The Fire continued to dominate possession and the offensive side of the field taking six second half shots compared to the
Warriors one. The Warriors would fall just short and be unable to make the comeback, falling to the #12 Fire 2-1.

The Warriors will travel up north for their next match in Hardeeville, GA to take on the SCAD-Savannah Bee's this Wednesday, October 25
th at 7 PM.
