TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (September 19, 2022) – The Webber International University men's and women's cross country teams traveled to Tallahassee, Florida for the Pre-NAIA Nationals meet. The Warriors would finish in 10th place on the men's side and 12th place on the women's side.

The Warriors had the opportunity to run at the Apalachee Regional Park where the NAIA National Championship meet will take place as well as the World Cross Country Championships in 2026. The course also hosted the NCAA Division-I Championships last season.
The men's team ran an 8K race and finished in 10th place out of 10 teams with a total time of 2:50:24. Leading the way for the men was freshman
Zachary Friend (29:38.2) finishing in 48th place out of 94 total runners.
Avery Coons (35:10.8) and
Jankarlos Colon (36:42.3) both made their collegiate debuts for the Warriors, finishing in 88th and 91st respectively. Finishing just ahead of Colon was sophomore
Carter Reynolds (36:26.9) in 90th place. Rounding out the men's scoring would be
Leo Campos Jr. (41:24.7) in 94th.

The women's race was 5K in distance and the Warriors would field five runners for the first time this season, finishing in 12th place.
Jessica Sanchez (24:42.6) was at the front of the grid for the Warriors, finishing in 91st out of 113 total runners. Not far behind would be
Vanielis Ramos (25:39.2) crossing the finish line in 95th. Running for the first time this season would be
Reyanna Troupe (31:22.4),
Kaitlyn Patterson (31:42.0), and
Raelynn Bellamy (32:09.7) all finishing back-to-back-to-back in 109th, 110th, and 111th.

Next weekend, the Warriors will travel to St. Leo University to participate in the Abbey Invitational at the Abbey Golf Course on Saturday, September 24th, at 7:45 a.m.
