LAKE WALES, Fla. (April 9, 2021) – The Webber International University's Esports team earned its first win in program history on Thursday night, winning by a score of 3-0 in the game of Rocket League against Rutgers University.

Standout Performance: Apalcability (
Trevor Robinson) was the player of the night for his consistency on both ends of the field for both best of 5's.

Webber vs. Rutgers:
Game 1:
- Nifty passes it across to Trippymane to give Webber the 1-0 lead at the 4:30 mark.
- Nifty shoots the ball into the lower left corner as Webber takes a quick 2-0 lead with 4:25 left.
- Alpacability gets one to slip past the defense giving Webber a 3-0 lead with 2:30 remaining.
- After good defense by both teams for the remainder of the time, the final score is 3-0 Warriors.
Game 2:
- Alpacability cleans up the missed shot by Nifty to give Webber an early lead in Game 2 with 4:31 left.
- Alpacability lobs a ball into the air and Nifty fakes it as the ball drops into the net to make it 2-0.
- Nifty turns good defense into a goal., saving it on one end and then then scoring it on the other to make it 3-0.
- Nifty passes off the wall to Alpacability, who shoots a laser to give Webber the 4-0 lead.
- Rutgers slices a ball from the corner to give them their first goal of the series and make the score 4-1.
- Nifty puts one in the top of the net to give Webber a 5-1 lead, and then on the following kickoff, Alpacabilty scores a goal to make it 6-1.
- Nifty and Alpacability combine for another goal with 55 seconds left to make it 7-1.
- Alpacability passes to Nifty in the air who scores to give Webber the 8-1 win.
Game 3:
- Alpacability slices a shot from the corner and then scores another, courtesy of Trippymane's pass, to give Webber a 2-0 lead 30 seconds into the match.
- Nifty gets a pass from Alpacability to put the game at 3-0.
- Rutgers gets one back stopping the 3-0 Warrior run.
- Nifty scores a kickoff goal to give Webber a 4-1 lead with 3:11 left in the game.
- Alpacability gets dunked by a Rutgers' player, putting the score at 4-2.
- Rutgers puts another one in to close the gap to 4-3 with 1:30 on the clock.
- Rutgers keeps their momentum and ties it up with 23 seconds left.
- In overtime, Nifty scores the go-ahead goal to take the game 5-4 and the series 3-0.

Earlier in the day before earning its first win ever against Rutgers, Webber also played Wake Forest University, and nearly came out on top there before falling by a final score of 3-2.
Webber vs. Wake Forest:
Game 1:
- Alpacibility scores the first goal of the match at the 3:00 mark.
- Trippymane passes the ball of the back wall to Nifty who scores to make it 2-0 with 1:20 left on the clock.
- Wake Forest struck back with 0:47 left, making it 2-1.
- Alpacability clears the ball as time expires and Webber takes it 2-1.
Game 2:
- Wake Forest gets a goal on a counterattack to take a 1-0 lead.
- Nifty gets the rebound off Trippymane's shot and ties it up 1-1.
- Keelo from Wake Forest scores a shot off the wall, giving them the 2-1 lead with 1:26 left.
- Keelo takes out the Webber goalie and scores on the open net to make it 3-1 Wake Forest.
- With 36 seconds left, Alpacability scores for Webber, closing the gap to 3-2.
- Webber was unable to find another goal as Wake Forest takes Game 2.
Game 3:
- GTpaintball scores three straight goals for Wake Forest to make it 3-0.
- Alapacbility strikes back with two goals of his own, putting Webber at a 3-2 deficit with 1:40 left.
- GTpaintball answers with two more goals, giving Wake Forest a 5-2 lead with 0:56 left.
Game 4:
- After a barrage of misses from Wake Forest, Nifty puts one on target to give Webber a 1-0 lead.
- Trippymane wins a 1v1 and then scores another to give Webber the 3-0 lead with 1:36 on the clock.
- Wake Forest stops the three-goal run with three goals of its own with 11 seconds left on the clock to tie it at 3-3, eventually sending the game to overtime.
- After two minutes and 40 seconds, Nifty puts in the gamer winner for Webber, sending the two teams to a Game 5.
Game 5:
- Wake Forest strikes first in Game 5 and takes a 1-0 lead with 4:25 left.
- Nifty passes to himself off the wall and scores a goal tying it up with 3:36 left.
- Keelo from Wake Forest gives them the lead with 54 seconds left as Wake Forest ultimately takes the game 2-1.
