LAKE WALES, Fla. (April 30, 2021) – The Webber International University's Esports team closed out its inaugural season on the night of Thursday, April 29, and won its first series 3-1 over the University of Akron before falling 3-0 against Roger Williams University.

Rocket League Roster: Trippymane (Noah Breakspear), Nifty (Trevor Ford), Martinbro16 (Trevor Martin), and Alpacability (Trevor Robinson).
 
Webber vs. Akron:

Game 1:

• Game 1 against the University of Akron. This is the last two games of the season for the Warriors and they are ready to play.
• During the first few minutes of the game, Webber comes out aggressive on offense keeping the ball on their side of the field and capitalizing with a goal by Trippymane, followed by another goal shortly after by MartinBro16 to make the score 2-0.
• Shortly after goal number two, Alpacabillity scores another goal to make the score 3-0.
• After about a minute and 30 seconds of play, Akron finally scores making it 3-1 with a minute and a half left.
• Akron scores again with 46 seconds left to make it a nail-biter at the end with the final score being 3-2 in Webber's favor.

Game 2:

• Game 2, Webber is hoping to keep the same momentum they had in Game 1 and come out with another victory.
• Akron showing aggressiveness and scores the first goal of the game making it 0-1 with over four minutes and thirty seconds left.
• After a long series on defense, Akron scores again with 1:38 left making the score now 0-2.
• Alpacability scores an amazing goal showing some serious dribbling to make the score now 1-2 with a minute left and making this another really close game.
• Game 2 came down to the final seconds, but Webber fell short to tie the best-of-five series at 1-1.

Game 3:

• Webber hoping to take what they learned from Game 2 and finish Game 3 with a victory.
• Amazing goal scored by Martinbro16 to make the game now 1-0.
• About 45 seconds later, Alpacability scores two back-to-back goals putting Webber up 3-0.
• Very good defensive play gives Martinbro16 a goal with a great pass of the wall by Trippymane to make the score now 4-0 with two minutes and thirty seconds left.
• Webber comes out on top 4-0 with the shutout victory and now takes a 2-1 lead in the series.

Game 4:

• Game 4, if Webber wins this game, they end the series 3-1 and secure the win against Akron.
• Akron not giving up without a fight and scores the first goal in Game 4, making the score 0-1.
• Alpacability responds with a goal of his own tying it at 1-1.
• Alpacability scores another big goal giving Webber the lead at 2-1.
• Alpacability with a hat trick making the score 3-1.
• Webber comes out on top beating Akron 3-1 in the best-of-five series.

 
Webber vs. Roger Williams:

Game 1:

• Game 1 in this best-of-five series. Webber is coming off a big victory over Akron and is hoping to carry the momentum from the last series into this one against Roger Williams University.
• Game 1 saw no goals in regulation as the two teams went into overtime tied 0-0 on the scoreboard. It is now sudden death as the first team to score wins.
• Roger Williams comes out on top in overtime, winning Game 1 in this best-of-five series.

Game 2:

• Game 2, after a tough loss in Game 1, Webber is on the hunt to tie the series at 1-1.
• However, Roger Williams scores the first goal in Game 2 making the score 0-1.
• Shortly after, Roger Williams scores another goal to increase its lead to 0-2 with two minutes and ten seconds left.
• Webber doing their absolute best but Roger Williams is showing some serious offensive pressure and capitalizes on it to make their lead 0-3.
• Roger Williams gets another win over Webber now making the series 0-2.

Game 3:

• Game 3, Webber is going to give it all they have to push this series into a Game 4.
• Roger Williams comes out with the same heat they had in the second game showing serious offensive pressure and scoring the first goal to make the score 0-1.
• Roger Williams scores another goal after a long defensive run for Webber now extending their lead to 0-2.
• Roger Williams not letting off the gas and scores another goal to make the score 0-3 with a minute fifteen left in the game.
• Webber trying their absolute best to stop Roger Williams on defense, but Roger Williams just putting serious pressure on Webber scoring another goal making the score 0-4.
• Webber scores a goal with ten seconds left making the score 1-4, but after giving everything they could, the Warriors fall short in the series against Roger Williams and end their night 1-1.
