Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - On Saturday, the #24 Webber International University Warriors traveled to St. Thomas for a double header against the host school and Fisk University. The Warriors would win both matches, and by beating the St. Thomas University Bobcats, they secured their spot as the regular season Sun Conference champions for the first time in program history.

Set one saw the match tied early on at 3-2 before Webber used a 4-0 run to take the lead. From that point, they never relinquished that advantage, allowing St. Thomas to get within only two at 15-13. At that point, the Warriors would trade points until a small 2-0 run gave them the four point cushion they would win the set by. Tessa Colden recorded 5 kills in the set.

In the second set, the Warriors would once again start with a lead, going up 5-2 early on. The Bobcats would battle to keep it close, keeping the lead at three until the score reached 10-7. At that point, the Warriors used a 15-3 run to win the set and take control of the match. McDaniel recorded 6 kills in the set.

The third set saw a much different St. Thomas team emerge. The teams were tied at 4-4 before the Bobcats took the lead and began to pull away. A quick 3-0 run would give them that advantage, then after trading points to keep the Warriors down 7-10, they would use a 10-2 run to gain a large lead late. Never faltering and trusting in each other, Webber would begin to battle back. An 8-1 run would pull them within three, then after siding out to prevent another run, they used a 4-0 run to take the lead at 23-22. The Bobcats would score the next two points to force set point, but the Warriors would follow with their own two points to earn match point. After St. Thomas tied the set at 25-25, Webber used one last 2-0 run the take set three and the match. McDaniel had 7 kills in the set.

St. Thomas was led by Whitney Battoe with 11 kills and Shanotta Bawek with 8. Haley Bannister led the defense with 23 digs, and Bawek added 11 of her own.

Shortly following the St. Thomas University matchup, the Warriors took on Fisk University in their second game in one day. It seemed as the St. Thomas game warmed the Warriors up as they swept Fisk in 3 straight sets. 25-10, 25-13, 25-14 led to Webber winning their 4th straight game in a row and an overall record of 24-2 with a Sun Conference undefeated 12-0 record.
