LAKELAND, Fla. — The Webber International University women's volleyball team battled RV Southeastern University in a midweek Sun Conference matchup Wednesday night, falling to the Fire, 3-0 (25-11, 25-11, 25-18), at The Furnace.
The Warriors moved to 7-7 overall and 2-3 in Sun Conference play, while Southeastern improved to 10-3 overall and 4-0 in conference action.
Webber was led offensively by Hailey Mull, who recorded six kills on 17 attacks. Kalyn Morgan added five kills, while Brianna Adams finished with three kills.
Lucianna Marinella and Katelyn Bobo each recorded nine assists to pace the Warriors' offense. Defensively, Alejandra Aponte led Webber with 10 digs, while Morgan and Samantha Gomez each added eight digs. Yaleesmar Rivera Rosa recorded a team-high two blocks.
Southeastern was led by Jillian Zoerman with 12 kills, while Haven Speer recorded 33 assists and Mallori Grey finished with 23 digs. The Fire hit .248 as a team and totaled 41 kills compared to Webber's 20.
Webber returns to action Thursday, September 24, when the Warriors host Baptist University of Florida at 4 p.m. at the Jessica Costanzo Court at the Sabbagh Athletic Center.
