BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Webber International University women's volleyball team picked up its second consecutive victory Wednesday night, defeating Florida National University 3-1 at Jessica Costanzo Court inside the Sabbagh Athletic Center.

The Warriors opened the match with a strong 25-16 victory in the first set. Florida National responded in the second, taking the frame 25-21 to even the match at 1-1.

Webber regained the momentum in a tightly contested third set. The Warriors battled through a back-and-forth frame before securing the 27-25 victory to take a 2-1 lead.

The Warriors then closed out the match in dominant fashion, cruising to a 25-11 victory in the fourth set.

Lucianna Marinella and Cristina Marrero led the Warriors offensively with 11 kills each, while Brianna Adams and Yaleesmar Rivera Rosa each added eight kills. Katelyn Bobo directed the Webber attack with 28 assists, while Marinella contributed 15 assists.

Defensively, Alejandra Aponte led all Warriors with 26 digs, followed by Marinella with 14 and Kalyn Morgan with 10. Aponte also recorded four service aces.

At the net, Cassandra Kendall posted a team-high five total blocks, while Morgan, Marinella and Ninette Romero Lopez each recorded one block.

The victory gives Webber its second straight win following last week's 3-1 victory over Warner University. The Warriors will now hit the road for their next contest.
