Volleyball Set for Two-Match Homestand

BABSON PARK, Fla. – Webber International University volleyball welcomes two Sun Conference opponents this week. The Warriors take on Southeastern, Tuesday, September 29 at 7 p.m. and then face off against rivals Warner, Saturday, October 3 at 2 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Warriors opened Sun Conference play last week, going 1-1.

Webber International opened the week against Ave Maria. The Warriors defeated the Gyrenes in straight sets. Bethany Forsyth led the way on offense with 13 kills on 20 attempts and six total blocks. Sophie Rossard posted 26 assists and on defense Michelle Calderon tallied 14 digs.

The Warriors then traveled to West Palm Beach, Florida to take on Keiser. Webber International fell to the Seahawks, 3-0. Senior Kaley Cox had a strong showing, positing 12 kills.

Fitting Right In
Webber International's newest recruits have had an instant impact on the team.

After 11 matches, freshmen Lauren Dehls continues to power the Warriors attack, notching a team-high 51 kills.

Fellow newcomer Rossard has had a major impact, registering a team-best 200 assists, adding 79 digs and 48 kills.

About Southeastern
The Fire are 8-4 and hold a 1-1 record in the Sun Conference. Southeastern traveled to Miami last weekend to take on St. Thomas and Florida Memorial. The Fire fell to the Bobcats, 3-1, and defeated Florida Memorial in straight sets.

The Southeastern offense is led by Kelsey Morton, who has tallied 85 kills at a .231 hitting percentage. Lindsey Fleming has been a major part of the Fire offense posting 300 assists. On defense Uchefuna Kojo was made 42 total blocks with Alyssa Prescott attributed with 169 digs.

About Warner
The Royals hold an 8-4 overall record and are a perfect 3-0 against Sun Conference opponents. Warner is on a five-match winning streak, defeating Ave Maria and Keiser last week.

Three Royal players have passed the 100-kill mark, led by Adrienne Czaplewski's 150, while Jenna Swaffer has made 323 assists. The defense is led by Thalia Mendez who has posted 195 digs
