Webber Takes Down Indiana Tech in NAIA Quarterfinals

Box Score Savannah, GA - The Webber International Men's Lacrosse team competed in the Quarterfinals of the NAIA Tournament against the Indiana Tech Warriors on Wednesday Afternoon. After being down early, Webber held off Indiana Tech, winning 13-10.
Jeremiah Loo got the scoring started for the Warriors, as he answered a goal scored by Indiana Tech. Indiana Tech got another goal to make it 2-1. Nick Sheaffer tied the game at 2-2 with a goal and an assist from Loo. A clear by Indiana Tech set up another goal making it 3-2. The first quarter ended with no other scores and Webber down 3-2.
The Warriors found themselves down 5-2 to start the second quarter. Christian Tapia scored soon after however, to cut the deficit to two. Daniel McClure had the next goal for the Warriors with an assist from Sheaffer. Blake Nelson scored with an assist from Tapia to tie it at 5-5. Indiana Tech scored two unanswered, but Chase Jackson and Sheaffer responded before half to make it 7-7 after two quarters.
Nelson scored the first goal in the third quarter, off a feed from Sheaffer. Houston Finlayson took advantage of a man-up opportunity and scored with a pass from Jackson. Indiana Tech would get one back, but Jackson took the goal right back making it 10-8 headed into the fourth.
Indiana Tech scored first goal of the fourth, bringing the Warrior lead to one. Kye McCarron got one into the net to reextend the Warriors lead to two. Indiana Tech would not go quietly as they scored again. Jackson found the back of the net again, this time off the feed from Nelson. Tapia scored again making it 13-10 Webber with two minutes remaining in the fourth. A last second shot by Indiana Tech would be saved by Ryan Prylinksi and the Warriors came out on top 13-10.
Jackson, Nelson, and Sheaffer led the team with four points. Jackson on three goals and one assist. Nelson on two goals and two assists, and Sheaffer on two goals and two assists. Joshua Cargile led with nine ground balls, Alex West, Dane Fasano, Tapia, and Dillon Ziemba all picked up two. In the goal, Prylinksi had 21 saves. 
The Warriors will be back in action on Thursday, May 9th when they take on the winner between Keiser and Concordia.
