Warriors Return from NAIA Nationals in Marion

Marion, IN - The Webber International Men's Track and Field team competed at the NAIA Nationals in Marion, Indiana over the week. The Warriors competed in the 100-meter dash, the Javelin, the 4x100 Relay, and the 4x400 Relay.  

Jordan Afolayan, Isaiah Oquendo, Amare Williams, and Lebron Williams competed in the 4x100 relay for the Warriors. Competing in the first heat, the Warriors placed sixth in the heat with a time of 40.80 which broke the previous school record by .01 seconds. Webber placed 15th overall out of 27 teams. 

In the Javelin, Jacob Wells competed for Webber. Wells was placed in the first of three flights and performed well, as his first throw was also his longest throw, going 56.74 meters, good for first in his flight. Wells would finish 12th out of 27 at the national meet.  

Oquendo also competed in the 100-meter dash, running in the first heat. Oquendo ran well, finishing with a time of 10.70 good for seventh in his heat. He placed 24th out of 27 runners. 

Afolayan, Marcus Higgins, Seth Sawyer, and A. Williams were the 4x400 relay team for the Warriors. Competing in the first heat, The Warriors finished seventh with a time of 3:18.84, breaking their previous pr from earlier in the season. Webber finished 19th out of 25 teams. 

The Warriors had a successful week at Indiana Wesleyan and will continue to grow in hopes of returning. Webber would like to thank all of their fans for the continued support all season long.
