Tampa, FL – The Webber International Men's and Women's Track and Field teams competed at the South Florida Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The Men competed on Friday, while the Women competed Saturday.
In the Men's 100-meter dash, Isaiah Oquendo, Amare Williams, Josiah Williams, and Kaleb Tankard competed. Oquendo finished 14th with a 10.58, A. Williams finished 17th with a 10.69, J. Williams finished 27th with a 10.99, and Tankard finished 30th with an 11.03. J. Williams competed in the 200-meter dash, finishing 31st with a 22.30. In the 400-meter, Marcus Higgins, Kaleb Roth, and Jordan Afolayan competed. Higgins finished 24th with a 50.31, Roth finished 36th with a 52.16, and Afolayan finished 39th with a 53.84. In the 1500, Derick Gomez finished 17th with a 4:27.16, and Andrew Rodriguez finished 20th with a 4:34.38. James Andrews finished 29th in the 400 hurdles, with a time of 1:01.56. Webber's 4x400 team placed 5th, with Roth, Fabio Justo Villar, Seth Sawyer, and Higgins finishing in 3:19.05.
In the Women's 100-meter dash, Alohnna-Elyse Lee finished in 38th with a 12.21. In the 200, Lee finished 44th with a 25.58. In the 400 hurdles, Terralyn Brockington finished 31st with a time of 1:23.27. In the triple jump, Xaniah Williams finished 21st, with her best jump traveling 11.23 meters. Brockington also competed in the javelin throw, finishing in 15th with her best throw traveling 27.66 meters.
The Warriors will be back in action on April 27th when they travel to the SUN Conference Championships.
