No. 3 Men's Lacrosse Falls to Seahawks in Semifinal

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – In the semifinal round of the Appalachian Athletic Conference, the Webber International University men's lacrosse team fell to No. 2 Keiser University Seahawks for the second time this season, 10-2.  
 

It was a slow start to the game as the first ten minutes were scoreless for both sides. The Seahawks (13-1 Overall, 7-1 AAC) scored five goals in succession and were able to keep the Warriors (15-3, 6-2) scoreless until second quarter.
 

Coming off of an assist by Chase Jackson, Christian Tapia netted the first goal for the Warriors. Tapia also scored the last goal for the warriors with 1:32 left in the second quarter. The Seahawks put two points on the board second quarter, which concluded with a score of 7-2 in favor of the Seahawks. 
 

The Warriors were unable to find the cage for the rest of the match as Keiser netted one in the third quarter and two in fourth quarter, ending the game with a score of 10-2.  
 

Tapia led the offense scoring all the goals for the Warriors. Jackson had the sole assist of the match. The Warrior defense was led by Dane Fasano with four caused turnovers with Cameron Paleski and Austin Schepers trailing behind with three and two respectively. Jordan Elam led in groundballs with four and Schepers, Houston Finlayson, and Alex Cordero followed closely behind with three each. A. Cordero spent all four quarters in the cage allowing 10 goals and making nine saves.

Webber now looks forward to the NAIA Men's Lacrosse Invitational which will take place in Pensacola, Florida beginning on Wednesday, May 10th.
