BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (April 7, 2021) – The bracket and schedule for the 2021 Mid-South Conference Men's Volleyball Tournament have been set, and the fifth-seeded Webber International University Warriors will play against fourth-seeded Life University at 1 p.m. EST / 12 p.m. CST on Thursday, April 8, inside Ephram White Gymnasium in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

In its second season under Head Coach Carlos Jimenez, Webber finished the season 11-10 overall and 9-7 in the conference, and earned the tiebreaker in the league standings over Reinhardt University after beating the Knights twice during the regular season. It was a new program-best both in overall wins and in conference wins for the Warriors.

Life, which was ranked as high as No. 12 in the NAIA during the regular season, finished 13-6 overall and 10-5 in the conference.

During the regular season, Webber was swept by Life on February 18 in Marietta, Georgia, before winning 3-2 at home over the Running Eagles on March 11. It was the first win over a nationally-ranked team in program history for the Warriors, who won the fifth set 20-18 after a kill by Daniel Hermida and a solo block by Gunter Perea Quevedo. Hermida would finish with a season-high 17 kills in that matchup while Zachary Ayala added 11, Chris Ludwig had nine, and Justin Beecher had a career-high 44 assists. Webber is 1-5 all-time against Life.

The Warriors are also hoping to use the momentum from their 3-1 Senior Day victory over rival Warner University this past Saturday. It was the second win in program history for Webber over Warner, and was the Warriors' first win over the Royals during the tenure of Coach Jimenez.

Should the Warriors win on Thursday, they would advance to Friday's semifinals at 6 p.m. EST / 5 p.m. CST at Bowling Green High School.

Passes are available for the opening round, quarterfinal and consolation matches Thursday and Friday at Ephram White Gym.
