Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Men's Volleyball team picked up a straight-set conference win on Friday night, defeating Carolina University 3-0 inside Babson Park by scores of 25-15, 25-22, and 25-20. The Warriors controlled the opening set, held off a late push in the second, and closed the match with a strong finish in the third to earn the victory.

Webber came out sharp in the first set, hitting .406 with 17 kills while building separation midway through the frame. Jordan Diaz helped spark the offense with several early kills, Noah Riascos added a service ace, and Janis Dobelis supplied multiple finishes at the net as the Warriors stretched the lead to 20-11. Brennan Porter and Gavin Patterson each added late kills to seal the comfortable 25-15 opening-set win.

The second set was tighter, but Webber stayed in front throughout most of the set. Patterson continued to lead the attack, Porter delivered several timely points, and Phoenix Gamble chipped in with both a kill and a service ace. Carolina cut the deficit to 23-22 late in the set, but the Warriors answered with back-to-back points, including a match-ending kill from Porter, to take a 2-0 lead.

Set three featured the most drama, with 10 ties and five lead changes, but Webber made the key plays late. Riascos recorded a pair of service aces, Dobelis added a service ace of his own, and the Warriors used a 5-1 surge to turn a 15-15 tie into a 20-16 advantage. Patterson and Porter delivered key kills down the stretch before back-to-back Carolina attack errors finished off the 25-20 set and the sweep.

Patterson led Webber with 13 kills and 11 digs, while Porter added eight kills on a .353 hitting percentage. Dobelis was highly efficient with seven kills on 12 swings for a .583 percentage, Diaz chipped in six kills, and Riascos filled the stat sheet with four kills, nine digs, and three service aces. Mateus Haubrich and Glauer Nogueira helped direct the offense with 15 and 16 assists, respectively, as Webber finished with 42 kills, eight aces, and a .222 team hitting percentage.
