Coach Carlos Jimenez begins his fourth year as the Head Men's Volleyball Coach at Webber International University during the 2023 season. He is in charge of both the Warriors' men's indoor and beach volleyball programs. He was announced as the Warriors' new head coach in November 2019.

The 2021 Webber indoor men’s volleyball season, led by Coach Jimenez, was arguably its best season in the team's four-year history as a varsity NAIA program. The Warriors finished the season 12-11 overall and 9-7 in conference play, set new program-bests in both overall wins and in conference wins, tied for sixth place in the conference standings, and earned the No. 5 seed for the conference tournament, where they upset No. 4-seeded Life University 3-1 for the first postseason win in program history. Earlier in the season, Webber defeated Life, which was ranked No. 14 in the NAIA at the time, by a score of 3-2 at home to earn what was its first ever win over a nationally-ranked team. Webber then defeated its Crooked Lake rival Warner University 3-1 at home on Senior Day. It was the Warriors’ second win in program history over the Royals, and was Webber’s first win over Warner during the tenure of Coach Jimenez. Chris Ludwig and Gunter Perea Quevedo were both named Second-Team All-Conference while Daniel Hermida earned Honorable Mention All-Conference.

Additionally, the inaugural Webber men’s beach volleyball team in 2020-21 team boasted the nationally-recognized pair of Chris Ludwig and Peyten Young, who were the top-seeded team in the country and were both nominated for the USA Beach Collegiate national team.

Coach Jimenez joined the Warriors with over 20 years of volleyball coaching experience at both the collegiate and national levels. He also has international experience as a professional volleyball player in France, Colombia and in the United States.

From 2002 through 2016, Jimenez served as tour director for EVP Pro Beach Volleyball for 14 years. In that role, Jimenez coordinated both national and international beach volleyball events while securing sponsorships nationally and regionally for the tour.

Additionally, Jimenez has coached at the World Volleyball Training Center in New York, Western Washington University (Bellingham, Wash.), Seattle University (Seattle, Wash.), C.E. CREA University in Bogotá, Colombia, and the National Volleyball Federation also in Bogotá, Colombia.

Jimenez played professionally for the U.S.S.A. Volleyball Club in Saint Andre, France in 2001-2002.

Jimenez has also had national volleyball consulting experience with many different international teams, including the German and Colombian national teams as well as Central American teams through the NORCECA (North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation) FIVB beach tour.

During the 2018 season, Jimenez was the Interim Head Women’s Volleyball Coach at NCAA Division-III Blackburn College in Carlinville, Illinois.

Previously, Jimenez spent 2016-2018 coaching at another D-III school, Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, as the Head Men’s Volleyball and Assistant Women’s Volleyball Coach. Also during 2019 at Wilson College, Jimenez worked as an adjunct faculty member in the exercise science department.

Coach Carlos received his Bachelor of Arts degree in fitness and exercise science from Western Washington University in 2000. He has also completed Master’s coursework at Wilson College and at the University of Lille. He has beach volleyball management and training certification, USA volleyball CAP I, France high development coaching certification, and Colombia national coach certification.
