BABSON PARK, Fla. (April 13, 2021) – After finishing up its first regular season in program history with a record of 3-6 overall and 3-4 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference, the Webber International University men's lacrosse team has clinched a spot in the AAC Postseason Tournament and is now set to play at Tennessee Wesleyan University during the first round of the tournament on Friday, April 16, at 1 p.m.
The Warriors finished the regular season tied with SCAD Savannah for fifth place in the AAC standings, but will enter the postseason as the six seed in the conference tournament due to its narrow 10-9 loss at SCAD on March 19. Tennessee Wesleyan (6-4 overall, 5-2 AAC), meanwhile, will be the three seed in the tournament after losing to the University of the Cumberlands during the regular season.
All five teams ahead of Webber in the tournament are either nationally-ranked or receiving votes in the NAIA Men's Lacrosse Coaches' Top 10 Poll as Reinhardt University is ranked No. 1 in the country, Cumberlands checks in at No. 8, and Tennessee Wesleyan, St. Andrews and SCAD are all receiving votes.
The only previous meeting between Webber and Tennessee Wesleyan this season came on March 14 when the Bulldogs were ranked No. 8 in the NAIA and defeated the Warriors 21-8.
All three of the Warriors' wins this season came at home on the Warrior Turf Field.
The first win in program history came on Monday, March 1, when the Warriors defeated Point University 21-6 to improve to 1-1.
Then on Tuesday, March 9, Webber topped St. Andrews University 12-9 to improve to 2-2 and also earn the first win in program history over a team receiving votes in the NAIA Men's Lacrosse Coaches' Top 10 Poll.
Lastly, on Saturday, March 27, the Warriors defeated Montreat College (N.C.) 16-9 to earn their third win at home in a row at the time and clinch their bid to the postseason.
In all of the AAC, Webber finished the regular season ranked fifth in goals per game (9.9) and in assists per game (4.6). Tennessee Wesleyan, meanwhile, ranked third in goals per game (11.7), shots per game (38.9), shots on goal per game (23.3) and in goals allowed per game (10.1).

Brad Taylor ranks 14 in total saves with 76. Offensively,
Chase Jackson ranks 24th in total assists with 13, and
Alexander Kew in 49th in total goals with 17.
