BABSON PARK, Fla. (March 25, 2021) – Webber International University's Hannah Tannone and Penny Gwynn have been named The Sun Conference Duo of the Week for the final week of the beach volleyball regular season.

During Webber's 3-2 loss at home against Warner on Monday, March 22, Tannone and Gwynn took care of business with a 21-12, 21-14 win in the No. 3 seed to improve to 5-0 in Sun Conference matches and 7-1 overall as a duo this season.

The play of Tannone and Gwynn all season long helped lead the Warriors to the regular-season title and the top-seed in Saturday's Sun Conference Beach Volleyball Championship (March 27).

Webber's Head Coach Jessica Gehrke-Hauptmann said, "We are excited to hear about Hannah and Penny receiving the pair of the week. They have been a reliable team for us this year and we are excited to see their achievements the remainder of the season."

This is Tannone and Gwynn's first TSC weekly award of the season and first of their career.

It is also the third week this season in five weeks that Webber beach volleyball was the recipient of the conference's duo of the week award as Jessica Terry and LaRee Crockett were honored during week two and Shymara Dykes and Brianda Valdez won it in week three.
