St. Petersburg, FL – The Webber International Women's Beach Volleyball team wrapped up a two-dual day in St. Petersburg on Wednesday, falling to Eckerd (4-1) and Florida Southern (5-0).
Match 1: Eckerd 4, Webber 1
The Warriors found momentum in the middle of the dual, earning their lone point at the No. 4 flight. Kayln Morgan and Naylim Andrews rebounded after dropping the first set, taking the final two frames to secure the win 15-21, 21-16, 15-3. Eckerd, however, captured the other four flights—highlighted by a three-set battle at No. 1 where the Tritons pulled out a 21-15, 11-21, 15-9 decision.
Match 2: Florida Southern 5, Webber 0
Webber showed fight in multiple courts against the Moccasins, with two flights pushed to a third set. At No. 1, Abigail Baxter and Kendall Steinert evened the match by taking set two before Florida Southern edged the tiebreak 21-10, 20-22, 15-13. The No. 3 pair of Bryanna Marks-Craig and Brianna Adams also forced a deciding set, but Florida Southern finished it off 21-17, 20-22, 15-12. The Moccasins swept the remaining courts to complete the 5-0 result.
