Sarasota, FL – The Webber International Beach Volleyball team opened Saturday by edging Warner, 3-2, before seeing its SUN Tournament run end in a 3-0 semifinal loss to host New College of Florida in Sarasota. Webber picked up wins on courts one, three, and four against Warner, then battled in a pair of tight flights against NCF but could not find enough momentum to advance.

Against Warner, the Warriors got a straight-sets win at the top flight from Abigail Baxter and Kaylee Hunt, who controlled their matchup 21-15, 21-17. Webber also found a clutch point on court three, where Vivianne Cancio and Bryanna Marks-Craig outlasted Lydia Coggins and Reese Crosman 22-20, 21-10. Kalyn Morgan and Hailey Mull rounded out the team victory on court four with a decisive 21-8, 21-11 result, giving Webber the three points it needed in the 3-2 dual win. Warner claimed courts two and five, but the Warriors' depth in the middle of the lineup proved to be the difference.

In the semifinal, New College of Florida secured the dual with wins on courts one, two, and four to hand Webber a 3-0 defeat. Baxter and Hunt fell on court one, while Addison Flom and Samantha Gomez were turned away on court two. Webber's best push came on court three, where Cancio and Marks-Craig forced a tight opening set before the sweep was finished without their game ending. Brianna Adams and Abby Leonard also kept things competitive on court five, where they were also cut shore with NCF completing the sweep to move on.

The split left the Warriors with a hard-fought tournament day that included one team victory and a semifinal appearance, highlighted by strong performances from Baxter and Hunt, Cancio and Marks-Craig, and Morgan and Mull in the win over Warner.
