BABSON PARK, Fla. (March 15, 2021) – The first Sun Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards have been swept by Webber International University. Junior Jade Hines was named TSC Women's Field Athlete of the Week while freshman Alohnna-Elyse Lee earned TSC Women's Track Athlete of the Week.

Hines won the women's long jump at the South Florida Collegiate Challenge Meet III this weekend as Webber accounted for each of the top three and four of the top six finishers in the event.

Lee, meanwhile, won the women's 100 meter dash as Webber accounted for two of the top three and three of the top 10 finishers in that event.

Hines set a new personal record not only in the long jump at 5.61 meters, but also in the women's 100 meter dash in which she placed third (12.68 seconds). Hines' winning mark in the long jump was only four centimeters off the national standard.

Lee set a new personal record not only in the 100 (12.48 seconds), but in the women's long jump competition in which she placed third at 4.97 meters.

Additionally, both Hines and Lee participated in the women's 4x100 meter relay team that placed second at 49.13 seconds.

This is Hines' first TSC weekly award (outdoor) of the season and second of her career (outdoor) while for Lee, it is her first TSC weekly award of the season and first of her career.

"I am really proud of these two young women for earning both the TSC Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards for this week," said Head Coach Caleb Wisecarver. "Jade continued to prove she is one of the top long jumpers in the NAIA with a great outdoor opener. Alohnna-Elyse really showed that she can be a threat at the conference level with her showing in the 100 meter dash this weekend. I'm very excited to see how these two continue to improve throughout the outdoor track & field season."

Congrats to both Jade Hines and Alohnna-Elyse Lee on winning the first Sun Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards of the season.
