BABSON PARK, Fla. (February 17, 2021) – The Webber International University Green and Black JV men's basketball teams both hosted Ave Maria University in The Sun Conference JV Men's Basketball Tournament Quarterfinals on Wednesday evening inside the Sabbagh Athletic Center, and when all was said and done, the Warriors' Green JV Team defeated the Gyrenes 84-61 in the first game of the night while the Webber Black JV team won 94-64 in the nightcap.
For the Webber Green Team,
Matt Washington scored a game-high 27 points after scoring 19 in the second half,
Korey Robinson scored 20 points,
Maize Hightower scored 16 points,
Taje' Green had eight points,
Sheldon Clarke had six points,
Zoen Thomas had five points, and
Kris Burns had two points.
For the Webber Black Team, all 10 players entered the scoring column as
Lothario Adkins led the way with a game-high 20 points on four 3-pointers while
Ryan Cole scored 18 points,
D'Andre Sutherland and
London Campbell both scored 12 points,
Maximus Benjamin had eight points,
Dezmond Dailey had seven points,
Isaiah Griffin had six points,
Retched Augustine had five points, and
Kurstan Middlebrook Jr. and
Jeremiah Goncalves both had two points. Adkins scored 15 points and made three 3-pointers in the first half alone before Cole scored 16 points in the second half.
Next up for the Webber Green and Black JV Teams will be the TSC semifinals on Sunday, February 21, on the campus of St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens, Florida. The semifinals will be played at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., and if either of the Warriors' teams should advance, the championship game will take place at 5:30 p.m.
