Seahawks Walk-Off 2 of 3 From Warrior Softball

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Webber softball traveled to Keiser University this weekend for a matchup of the Sun Conference. Unfortunately for the Warriors, they were unable to hold off the Seahawks twice in the bottom of the 7th, as Keiser took the series with two walk-off wins.
 
GAME 1: Lindell Homers, Seahawks Walk-Off On Error (Box Score PDF)
 
Keiser jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning. In the top of the 2nd, Laura Borders drew a 1 out walk, then Meghan Lindell stepped in and smacked a 2-run shot to left center field tying it up 2-2. The tie was broken in the top of the 3rd when the Warriors, Ka'Deisha McCowen took off on a wild pitch and scored making it 3-2. Keiser jumped up by one in the bottom of the 3rd with a 2 RBI double. Victoria Atkinson tied it back up for the Warriors in the top of the 6th with an RBI single that scored Alyssa Householder. With the game knotted up at 4-4 in the bottom of the 7th, Keiser was able to cash in on an error off a bunt that allowed the Seahawks to earn a walk-off win 5-4.
 
STATLINE: Meghan Lindell was 2-3 with a homerun and 2 RBI's. Raven White pitched all 6 innings giving up 5 runs, 4 earned runs, off 10 hits while only walking 1 and striking out 1.
 
GAME 2: Borders & Hazen Homer, Warriors Earn 10th Win Of Season
 
Keiser again struck first blood as they took a 1-0 lead over Webber in the 1st Inning. In the top of the 3rd inning, Victoria Atkinson picked up an RBI knocking in Ka'Deisha McCowen. With Brandi Hazen on 3rd base, Laura Borders hit a towering 2-run homerun deep to center field giving the Warriors a 3-1 lead. The Seahawks managed to get 1 more across in the bottom of the 3rd. Brandi Hazen hit a solo shot in the top of the 5th extending the lead to 4-2. Keiser was able to get 1 run in the bottom of the 5th but the Warriors held on and tied the series at 1-1 with a final score of 4-3.
 
STATLINE: Laura Borders was 3-3 with a homerun, double and 2 RBI's. Brandi Hazen was 3-4 with a homerun, double and 1 RBI with 2 runs scored. Victoria Atkinson was 2-4 with an RBI. Naomi Spurgeon improved to 4-5 on the year pitching a complete 7 inning game giving up only 1 earned run off 9 hits.
 
GAME 3: Borders & Atkinson Register Another Multi-hit Performance, Seahawks Walk-Off Again (Box Score PDF)
 
Trailing 6-2 headed into the top of the 5th, the Warriors put together a 4-run inning to tie the game. Victoria Atkinson singled in Alyssa Householder. Laura Borders then tripled to right field scoring Brandi Hazen and Victoria Atkinson. Then Meghan Lindell followed up with a single that plated Laura Borders. The score would remain tied until the bottom of the 7th when a heart dropping single for Keiser would score the winning run giving Keiser the series.
 
STATLINE: Victoria Atkinson went 3-4with a double and 2 RBI's. Laura Borders was 2-4 with a triple, a stolen bag, and 2 RBI's. The Warriors threw a rare 4 pitchers during the game that included Raven White, Daryien Moss, Sabrina Hebding and Naomi Spurgeon.
 
FINAL THOUGHTS: Webber has almost a full week off before they take on Ave Maria in Babson Park, Fla. in a 3 game set with the first pitch scheduled for Friday evening at 4:00 p.m.
