William Carey was unable to score in the top of the 7th making the Webber International University Warriors the Reinhardt Bracket Champions.
Seven Warriors put hits up on the board today.
Shanelly Brown,
Brandi Hazen,
Erika Bellinger and
Katie O'Dell all registered 2 hits on the day.
Erika Bellinger was 2-4 with 4 RBI's and a walk. Bellinger also received the Win for the Warriors on the mound as she threw 5 innings only surrendering 2 runs on 7 hits.
Both representatives from the Sun Conference in post season play, Webber International University and Southeastern University, are advancing to the NAIA World Series to be played in Sioux City, Iowa. Both teams went 3-0 in their respective brackets.
The Lady Warriors entered the Opening Round Reinhardt Bracket still receiving very little credit for their achievements thus far. Many called them Cinderella; picked them to finish last, but ultimately, this is what has lead them to fight. They have proven everyone wrong so far and now stand in a field of the Top 10 teams in the Nation.
Congratulations to the Webber International University Softball team, coaches and staff. You're not only the Sun Conference Champions, you're also the Opening Round Reinhardt Bracket Champions. Keep rolling and #BEGREAT Go Warriors!!!
