(RV)Baseball Drops Heartbreaker To Embry Riddle Eagles

Box Score DAYTONA BEACH, Fla – Webber baseball traveled to Daytona, FL to face the Embry-Riddle Eagles yesterday. The Warriors dropped a heartbreaker to the Eagles by a final score of 11-12.

The game was looking good for the Warriors as they took a 7-3 lead into the 4th inning. After the 6th inning, they jumped out to an 11-6 lead. In the bottom of the 7th inning The Eagles came alive and tied the game by putting up 5 runs of their own. The Warriors were unable to take the lead in the top of the 9th. The Eagles opened up the bottom of the 9th with a double, followed by a bunt single that advanced the runner to third base, then a sacrifice fly would end the game as the runner at third scored after tagging up.

Taylor Layner and Daniel Aviles both registered doubles on the game. Lenin Sanchez hit a 2 run homerun in the 6th inning. Overall, 10 different Warriors had hits on the night.

The (RV) Warriors move onto their last home series of the season against the visiting Southeastern University Fire. The first game of the series will be at 7 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2016. The second and third game of the series will be played starting at 12 p.m. All games are located in Babson Park at The Heart of Florida Field on Webber International University's campus.
