Warriors Complete Series Sweep of Mighty Banyans

Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Baseball team swept New College of Florida in Saturday's Sun Conference doubleheader in Babson Park, taking game one 14-4 before finishing the day with a 12-2 win in game two. The Warriors totaled 26 runs and 31 hits across the two contests while using steady pitching and timely extra-base hits to control both games, securing the four game conference series sweep.

In the opener, Webber answered New College's four-run third inning with four runs of its own in the bottom half, then kept the pressure on with one run in the fourth, four in the fifth, four more in the seventh, and one in the eighth. The Warriors finished with 16 hits in the 14-4 victory.

Keegan Martin set the tone in game one by going 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI, three runs scored, a walk, and a stolen base, while Ty Mathews went 4-for-6 with a double, an RBI, and three runs scored. Steven Nitch drove in four runs on a 3-for-5 afternoon, Mike Cuello went 2-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI, and Austen Jaslove added two hits, including a double, and two RBI. Tugg Hollandsworth also chipped in two hits and an RBI as Webber's lineup produced from top to bottom.

On the mound in game one, Ryan Franklin started and worked three innings, while Austin Dobbins earned the win with four scoreless innings of relief. Tyler Helton closed out the final inning as the Warriors limited New College to just one earned run despite the visitors collecting 11 hits.

Webber carried that momentum into the nightcap, erupting for seven runs in the first inning and never looking back in a 12-2 win. The Warriors added two more runs in the fifth and three in the seventh, finishing with 15 hits in the seven-inning victory.

Martin starred again in game two, going 3-for-3 with a double, four RBI, two runs scored, and two walks. Hollandsworth drove in two runs, Ty Mathews collected three hits and two RBI, and Mike Cuello launched a three-run homer. Kaleb Henry scored three times and doubled twice, while Austen Jaslove added two hits and a walk in another balanced offensive performance.

Trevor Carter gave Webber a strong start in the second game, allowing two runs on five hits over five innings to earn the win. Jalen Martinez followed with two scoreless innings in relief to secure the sweep and close out a dominant day for the Warriors.
