Box Score 2 WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Webber International University was on the road, Saturday, for a two-game set against Keiser University. The Warriors took game one, 2-0, but fell in game two, 2-1.
Freshman Melanie Murphy pitched a complete-game shutout to pick up her sixth win of the season. She limited the Eagles to just four hits and struck out three.
In a low-scoring series, Shanelly Brown found success. She finished the day, 3-7 with an RBI and a steal.
Webber International 3, Keiser 0
The Warriors opened the scoring in the fourth inning. Laura Borders opened the inning by getting hit by a pitch. Two consecutive errors would push Borders home.
Brandi Hazen delivered a RBI up the middle in the top of the sixth, putting the Warriors ahead, 2-0.
Brown picked up her RBI in the seventh, securing the win, 3-0.
Webber International 1, Keiser 2
In another tightly contested game, Webber International would fall just short of a series sweep.
Things remained scoreless till the Warriors pushed ahead in the top of the fifth.
Brandi Hazen delivered a triple deep right field, allowing Brown to motor around the bases and reach home.
Keiser would go on to score two unanswered runs, taking the game, 2-1.
