Box Score 2 BABSON PARK, Fla – Webber softball headed out to face Conference foe Ave Maria on Saturday. They came away with both wins of the double header, moving them to 2nd place in the Sun Conference with a 5-3 record.
In the first game,
Erika Bellinger, threw an absolute gem by completing a no hitter. This moves Bellinger to a 5-2 record overall. The lone run for the Warriors and the eventual game winner came in the 6th inning off of the bat of
Alyssa Householder scoring the pinch runner
Kimberly Davis.
The second game was an 8-5 win for the Warriors. The center fielder for the Warriors,
Katie O'Dell, was 2-2 on the game that included 2 walks, a triple and 4 RBI's. In the bottom of the 5th,
Naomi Spurgeon would take over for
Melanie Murphy on the mound. 3 innings pitched and no runs allowed gave Spurgeon the win and moves her to 5-2 on the year.
The Warriors will take on Thomas University next weekend, Saturday April 16th, in a double header that starts at 1 p.m. and will be played at home on
Nancy Nichols field.
