Box Score 2 BABSON PARK, Fla. – Webber International University softball closed out a four-game home stand, Thursday, with two games against Columbia College. The two teams picked up a win each, with only two total runs scored.
Laura Borders won the first game with her seventh homerun of the season. In the narrow game two loss, Katie O'Dell went a perfect 3-3.
Erika Bellinger pitched a complete game shutout in game one, allowing only three hits.
Columbia 0, Webber International 1
Through three and a half innings there was only one hit between the teams.
Borders led off the bottom of the fourth and delivered a massive home run to dead center field, putting the Warriors up, 1-0.
Bellinger would allow only one more hit, preserving the, 1-0, victory.
Columbia 1, Webber International 0
Game two was another pitcher's duel, with one swing of the bat deciding things.
With two outs in the top of the first, the Cougars Molly Carter put one over the left field wall to give Columbia the early lead.
The Warriors would get multiple runners on base but could not string together enough hits to push a run home.
After seven innings of action, the Warriors had fallen to the Cougars, 1-0.
