Box Score 2 BABSON PARK, Fla. – Webber International University softball hosted Grand View College in a doubleheader, Wednesday. The Warriors pitched well but the offense struggled dropping both games, 6-1 and 4-2.
Kara Seymour hit well against Grand View, going 4-6. Laura Borders also had a strong day, going 4-7 with a RBI. Freshman sensation, Melanie Murphy continued the hot start to her career, with a strong outing in game two. She pitched six innings, allowing three run on only three hits.

Solid pitching backed up by strong defense limited the Warriors to one run.
The Vikings came out hot, pushing home three runs in the top of the first.
In the bottom of the second, the Warriors got on the board. With two outs, Katie O'Dell and Kara Seymour picked up singles. Shanelly Brown hit a sharp ball to the second baseman, who bobbled the ball, allowing Brown to reach and O'Dell to score.
The Warriors offense could not get anything going through the rest of the game, eventually falling, 6-1.

In a close game, one hit decided things.
Both pitchers were throwing shutouts outs till the sixth inning.
With two outs on the board, the Vikings hit two singles. Jessica Grochala then stepped up and hit a three-run shot deep to left center, to take a 3-0 lead.
The Warriors stepped up in the bottom of the inning with a strong response. Alyssa Householder led off the inning with a single. Brandi Hazen moved her over with a grounder to first. Borders crushed double to left center to put the Warriors on the board. Megan Isoba followed it up with a RBI single, bringing the score to 3-2.
Webber International could not force extra innings in the bottom of the seventh, falling 4-2.
