On a day when the Warrior bats were cold, Kayla Montgomery had a strong day. She went 1-4 with a two-run homerun and a walk.
Montgomery was also strong on the mound. She pitched five innings in game one, striking out four and exited the game with Webber International up, 4-2. Unfortunately, she was given a no-decision. Freshman Melanie Murphy was also stellar in her loss. She pitched a complete game, allowing one run on two hits and registered seven strikeouts.

A tightly contested first game saw the Warrior lead slip away late.
Webber International took the lead in the bottom of the 2nd after a bases-loaded passed ball allowed Megan Isoba to reach home.
After five and half innings, the Pioneers took a narrow, 2-1. The Warriors hit back in the bottom half. Shanelly Brown kicked off the big inning with a leadoff double. Brandi Hazen drove her in with a looping single to right field. Montgomery closed out the inning with a soaring two-run shot over the center field wall to put Webber International back on top, 4-2.
Unfortunately, it was not enough as the Warriors fell, 5-4.

In a true pitcher's duel, one swing of the bat decided the game.
Murphy had a no-hitter going through three and two-thirds innings, striking out three. Her no-hit bid was broken up after surrendering a solo homerun.
She would go on to strike out four more batters and allow only one hit, but the Warrior offense could not find a run to avoid the, 1-0, loss.
