Box Score LAKE SUMTER, Fla. – Webber International University junior varsity baseball opened the 2016 season on the road playing Lake-Sumter State, Saturday.
Both teams started the first three innings slow, Lake-Sumter was quick to pick the pace up in the 6th inning, leaving Webber without any runs for four consecutive innings.
Toward the end of the game, the Warriors form was sharper, and brought them back from the large deficit, batting in four runs in the last two innings. Andre Ruche had two hits to help the Warriors, along with team mate Anthony Farish who had two RBI for the game.
Unfortunately the Warriors were not able to respond quick enough to finish the game on top, with Webber International falling short to Lake-Sumter, 12-5.
