Box Score BABSON PARK, Fla. – Lady Warriors dropped their first conference game 6-5 in the eighth inning to Lady Sandsharks on March 16, 2012.
Webber was first to score as
Maureen Sandidge singled and earned an RBI as
Toni Marzello scored in the first inning. Two more runs in the third gave the Lady Warriors a 3-0 advantage.
Jessica Lanci doubled to center field as she earned an RBI for herself as
Toni Marzello earned herself a second run in the game. Then
Brittany Spencer singled up the middle and earned an RBI as she brought
Jessica Lanci home.
South Carolina Beaufort tied the game in the fifth inning as Rietkovich homered and earning herself 3 RBIs as Blasingame and Shaffren scored. Lady Warriors changed pitched in this inning hoping to have a fresh arm to save the game.
Lady Warriors retook its lead in the bottom of the fifth as M. Sandidge doubled up the middle and earned an RBI as she brought
Jianna Hernandez home from the second base.
South Carolina Beaufort took a one point lead in the seventh inning as Rietkovich scored on a wild pitch, and Goolsby doubled and earned an RBI as Phillips scored; both runners somehow managed to get through the catcher to home plate with a ball in the catcher's glove.
The game might have seemed as if it was over with 2 outs and no one on base and Lady Sandsharks have a one point lead in the bottom of the seventh inning; however,
Maureen Sandidge came out big for Lady Warriors with full count before she hit a single homerun to tie the game 5-5 and send it to extra innings.
South Carolina Beaufort was first to bat and score in the extra inning as Zipperer doubled up the middle and earned an RBI as Rietkovich scored. Lady Warriors tried to fight back, but came up short at the end.

Leading the Lady Warriors was
Toni Marzello with two runs,
Maureen Sandidge with a homerun and three RBIs. Rietkovich led Lady Sandsharks to a victory with three runs.
Webber International felt to 16-12 overall and 0-1 in The Sun Conference, as South Carolina Beaufort improved to 18-2 overall and 4-0 in The Sun Conference.
Lady Warriors will be back in action on Saturday March 17, 2012 as they will face off South Carolina Beaufort in a doubleheader conference game at noon.
