BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Webber baseball team defeated the Cougars of Clearwater Christian College 5-2 for their first home win of the season.
After the Cougars jumped out early and scored in the first inning, the Warriors answered back by scoring a run in the their half of the first. Webber then pushed three runs across in the third inning and that would be all they needed to hang onto the win.
Leading the way for the Warriors at the dish was
Shane McIntyre and
Carlo Galluccio who both had two hits.
Picking up the win for Webber was
Adam Sproat who threw five innings allowing two runs on four hits.
Will Arnold tossed two perfect innings while
Danny Bishop and Galluccio each had perfect innings of their own. Galluccio earned the save.
Webber (3-5) will take on Embry Riddle Aeronautical University this weekend in a The Sun Conference matchup. Game one is Friday at 6pm.
