Lady Warriors Softball Lupus Awareness Game

3/16/2010 4:20:19 PM

Babson Park, Fla. – Webber International University's softball team are hosting Auburn University of Montgomery, Wednesday, March 17th, in a “Purple Game” tribute to teammate Morgan Hughart.

Morgan could not participate in the 2010 Softball Season due to recently being diagnosed with Lupus.

Hughart was a graduate from Boca Ciega High School in St. Petersburg, Florida. She transferred to Webber after spending time at St. John's River Community College. Hughart earned All Conference Honorable Mention awards and was the team captain.

Recruited as an infielder, with great speed, and the ability to hit from both sides of the plate, Morgan looked to be a great asset to the Lady Warriors softball team.

The “Purple Game” Wednesday, is to create awareness of Lupus, so come out and support the Lady Warriors in their double header versus AUM, at 3p.m. and 5p.m.

Be sure to wear purple and remember all proceeds and donations will be given to Morgan Hughart and her family to help their medical expenses.
