Warriors Fall To Top Seed Thomas In Opening Game

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - Thomas University uses sloppy Webber defense to advance into the winner's bracket of the NAIA Region XIV softball tournament. The Warriors made three early errors that directly led to Night Hawk runs as Thomas won the game 4-0.
 
Leading the way at the plate for the prevailing Night Hawks was Joanne Tosh who went three-for-three with two runs scored. Tina Donaldson also had a multi hit game going two-for-three with an RBI. Also chipping for Thomas was Stacey Ward who went one-for-three with a run and RBI and Revanna Rainwater who went one-for-three with a run scored.
 
On the mound for Thomas was Kylie Berryman who tossed a complete game shutout only allowing three hits while striking four Warriors'.
 
Starring for Webber at the plate was #Jamie Vickers#, #Amanda MacIntyre#, and #Liz Wallace# who all had a hit in the affair.
 
Starting on the mound and picking up the loss for Webber was #Nichol Buckland# who threw three innings allowing three runs on five hits while striking out one. Coming in to relieve Buckland was #Cassie Pearson# who threw three innings allowing one run on three hits while striking out two.
 
With the loss, Webber will feature in first game of the day (noon) against St. Thomas who also lost their opening game by a 4-0 score line to SCAD.  This is a must win game for both teams, and the loser will be the first team sent home from the Region XIV Tournament.
