Bolser Hits 100 Tackles, Warriors fall to Nighthawks

Babson Park, FL – The 7th ranked Webber International Flag Football team hosted the Thomas Nighthawks Friday afternoon on the Warrior Turf Field in SUN Conference action, where Senior Rylee Bolser eclipsed the 100-tackle mark for the season, leading the NAIA. Despite scoring first, the Warriors were unable to generate much more offense, falling to the Nighthawks 45-6.

The Warriors struck first midway through the opening quarter when Luzariana Herrera connected with Cheyenne Durand on a 47-yard touchdown pass to put Webber in front 6-0 with 7:26 remaining in the first. Thomas answered less than two minutes later on a 56-yard touchdown pass from Destiny Lockett to Azariah Greer, then took the lead for good early in the second quarter on a one-yard scoring toss from Lockett to make it 12-6.

Thomas' offense found its rhythm from there, adding a five-yard touchdown pass to Neka Dean with 42 seconds left in the second quarter to carry an 18-6 lead into halftime. After Webber drove deep into Thomas territory on its opening possession of the second half, the Nighthawks came up with another stop and marched 75 yards on an 11-play drive that ended with an eight-yard scoring pass to Sabrina Schlegelmilch, extending the margin to 25-6 late in the third.

The Nighthawks put the game away in the fourth quarter. Lockett scored on an 11-yard run with 2:06 remaining, then Thomas capitalized on a pair of late turnovers to tack on two more touchdowns in the final two minutes, including a six-yard scoring pass and a final defensive score with eight seconds left. Webber was held scoreless after its opening touchdown despite moving the ball through the air for stretches, finishing with 250 passing yards and 248 total yards.

Herrera led the Warriors through the air, going 21-for-33 for 178 yards and a touchdown, while Brylee Kamm added 72 passing yards. Durand paced Webber's receiving corps with five catches for 62 yards and the team's lone touchdown, while Yasmin Lott hauled in 11 receptions for 69 yards. Defensively, Kahliya Gaitor recorded two sacks and six total tackles, with Rylee Bolser also finishing with six stops. Thomas was led by Lockett, who threw for 310 yards and six touchdowns while also rushing for a score, as the Night Hawks totaled 359 yards of offense and intercepted three passes
