Babson Park, FL – The 7th ranked Webber International Flag Football team put together a strong all-around performance on Saturday, defeating Point, 20-6, in conference play after holding the Skyhawks scoreless for more than 47 minutes. Webber finished with 251 yards of total offense and 12 first downs, while the defense came up with a sack, a takeaway, and a forced fumble in the win.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Warriors broke through late in the second. Following a long 68-yard drive that lasted 5:52, Brylee Kamm connected with Ijyana Edwards on an 11-yard touchdown pass with 2:53 left before halftime to give Webber a 6-0 lead.
Webber added to the advantage in the third quarter when Luzariana Herrera capped a six-play, 34-yard possession with a 1-yard touchdown pass at the 6:00 mark. Herrera then added the conversion through the air, pushing the Warriors in front 14-0.
The Warriors put the game away in the final minute of regulation. Herrera found Bolser who pitched it to Cheyenne Durand for a 4-yard touchdown with 58 seconds remaining, extending the lead to 20-0. Point answered moments later on a late touchdown, but Webber kept control the rest of the way to secure the 20-6 victory.
Herrera led the Warriors' passing attack, completing 27 of 45 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns, while Kamm added an efficient 5-for-6 line for 50 yards and a score. Sigmundi paced Webber's receivers with 12 catches for 59 yards and a touchdown, Edwards added five receptions for 58 yards and a score, and Bolser finished with six catches for 26 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively, Savannah Cox and Kwanesha Bonelli each recorded six total tackles, while Sigmundi added an interception and return yardage. Kahliya Gaitor also came up with Webber's lone sack as the Warriors limited Point to just six points despite 245 total yards. For Point, Corriah Williams threw for 232 yards and a touchdown, and Aniyah Wesley hauled in a 66-yard scoring reception.
