Chicago, IL – Vedant Sirohi of the Webber International Men's Golf team competed in the NAIA Championship at TPC Deere Run in Chicago, Illinois. Sirohi placed the highest an individual from Webber ever has in the history of the Golf program, finishing in a tie for 3rd place.
TPC Deere Run is a Par 71 course and Sirohi immediately got to work. He fired a round one 70, with birdies on the Par 4 1st hole and the Par 4 14th, while a bogey on the Par 4 9th hole kept him at one under. The second round is where Sirohi made the most movement in the second round. He fired off five birdies on the day, the Par 4 1st hole, the Par 4 6th, the Par 11th, the Par 3 16th, and the Par 5 17th. He added one bogey on the 8th to finish the day four under par, carding a 67, and at five under for two days. Sirohi kept pace in the third round, carding three birdies against four bogeys to go one over 72, finishing four under par for the tournament, in a tie for 3rd place.
Sirohi was also named to the PING All-American team after another dominating season leading the Warriors.
Head Coach Stuart Winsby was excited about the tournament and looked ahead to next season as well.
"It was a fantastic few days chasing a National Championship. To be in contention coming down the stretch made it all the more exciting. Vedant and I are already looking forward to heading back to TPC Deere Run next year, hopefully with four teammates alongside us."
