Sebring, FL – The Webber International Men's Golf team hosted the Nancy Nichols Matchplay tournament at the Sun N Lake Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday. The Warriors won both matches they played on Monday and came back Tuesday morning to take home first place.
The Warriors first took on the SCAD-Savannah Bees Monday morning. The Warriors lined up with Vedant Sirohi at the one, George Holloway at the two, Tristan Greenleaf at the three, Callum Woolston at the four and Kyle Miller at the five. Sirohi, Greenleaf, and Woolston all won their matches, while Holloway finished all square and Miller fell to his opponent. Webber took down SCAD with a score of 3.5 to 1.5.
The Warriors second match had them facing off against the Southeastern Fire, rolling out the same lineup. Sirohi again won his match, with Holloway and Miller each winning theirs this time around. Greenleaf and Woolston each fell, but the Warriors took care of business, winning 3 to 2 and advancing to the championship match Tuesday.
It was the same lineup for match three where Webber took on the St. Thomas Bobcats. Sirohi continued his run, as he was the only Warrior to win all three of his matches. Woolston and Miller also won their matches, with Holloway falling in his and Greenleaf finished all square, giving the Warriors a 3.5 to 1.5 victory.
After the championship match, Head Coach Stuart Winsby had this to say about his team.
