Lewiston, ID – The Webber International Baseball team begins its quest for the first NAIA Red Banner in program history, as they take on a familiar foe in the Southeastern University Fire in their first game at the Avista NAIA World Series. Although the Fire took the regular season series, the Warriors had the last laugh in the SUN Conference tournament, and both teams are looking to start their trip in Lewiston with a win over their Polk County Rivals.

The Warriors have been red hot since the regular season ended, as the owners of a seven game winning streak. The streak started with a 13-3 victory over the St. Thomas Bobcats in the first game of the SUN Tournament. Webber proceeded to take down the Keiser Seahawks 7-6, Southeastern 6-4, and Keiser again in the championship game 6-4.

The Warriors took care of business in the Concordia (Nebraska) Regional where they were the #1 seed. The Warriors took down Indiana Wesleyan 5-4, before taking down the hosts 3-0. In a championship game rematch with Indiana Wesleyan, the Warriors dominated the Wildcats 11-1 to punch their ticket to Lewiston.

The Warriors will look to continue their blueprint from the regular season and the start of the postseason, where dominant pitching at timely hitting is the name of the game. Webber will be led by starting pitcher Blayne Huter, Infielders Ryan Recio, Brandon Sanchez, and Richard Rodriguez, and outfielders Jalen Martinez and Bryan Morales.

The Warriors take on the Fire at 11:00 A.M. at Harris Field at Lewis-Clark State College.
