Warriors Take Two on Friday Doubleheader

Babson Park, FL - The Webber International women's beach volleyball team tacked on two more wins as they took down Sun Conference foes Southeastern and Warner in a tri-match on Saturday afternoon. The Warriors swept the Fire 5-0, while they defeated the Royals 4-1. With this, Webber moves to 4-5 on the year and 2-1 in conference play.   

WIU's twos pair of Keirsten Tisdale and Nadia Reid got on the board first with a quick two set win over SEU (21-15,21-15). Delanie Johnson and Abby Baxter followed suit with a straight set sun as the four seed (21-19, 21-14). Webber's Vivianne Cancio and Ryann Sloan put the Warriors ahead 3-0 with a sweep at the five seed. Lily Arnold and Janna Morrissey and Kendall Steinert and Leynie Young wrapped up game one with two more wins as Webber put the Fire away in a clean 5-0 win.   

In game two, Warner got on the board first with a win at the four seed. Webber then responded with four straight wins to take the match 4-1. WIU's one-seeded Janna Morrissey and Lily Arnold held their opponents to just 24 points in two sets.

Arnold and Morrissey took their match in straight sets (21-16, 21-8) to give the Warriors the lead. WIU won at the twos and the threes to close the day out 2-0.   

Webber will be back in action on Tuesday, March 12th as they head to take on Eckerd at Noon.
